We attended a webinar a few days ago organised for Indian startup founders looking to expand to Germany and the EU. The session brought together official government representatives from the City of Cologne (KölnBusiness), the Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the University of Cologne's startup accelerator.

The discussion covered practical aspects of Germany and EU market access, with particular focus on government-backed support for talent acquisition and business expansion. We found the real startup case studies especially valuable, as they provided concrete examples of how Indian companies have successfully navigated the German market.

What caught our attention was the Gateway Accelerator program from the University of Cologne, which offers structured support for international startups entering the German ecosystem.

There's also an upcoming opportunity to meet the German delegation in person in Hyderabad, India, which could provide deeper insights into the expansion process.

We're always interested in understanding how international markets approach AI adoption and startup support, particularly as we work with UK SMEs exploring similar growth opportunities.
